Megaphone ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application ("the App"). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the App.
The App sends your personal data to third-party services to provide its core features. Before using the App, you will be asked to review and consent to this data sharing through an in-app disclosure screen. This Privacy Policy provides full details on what data is collected, how it is used, and exactly which third parties receive it.

We do not sell your personal information. To provide the App's features, we share specific data with the following named third-party services. Each service receives only the data necessary for its function.
What it is: Gen.C is the backend application that powers Megaphone. It is hosted at gencapp.pro.
Data sent: All content you submit through the App — including video URLs, text content, topics, prompts, scripts, creator preferences, and your account identifiers (anonymous install ID, Firebase user ID) — is first transmitted to this server.
Purpose: Gen.C processes your requests and routes data to the appropriate downstream services (Anthropic, ScrapeCreators) listed below. It also handles authentication verification and request coordination.
Data protection: All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. The server does not store your content beyond the time needed to process each request.
What it is: Anthropic is an AI safety company that provides the Claude large language model.
Data sent: Your text content, topics, prompts, creator preferences, and scripts are forwarded from our backend to Anthropic's API for processing.
Purpose: Anthropic's Claude AI powers script generation, content rewriting, delivery-pattern extraction, and text-to-speech synthesis within the App.
Data protection: Anthropic processes data under its Privacy Policy and Usage Policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
What it is: ScrapeCreators is a third-party API service that extracts transcripts from public video URLs.
Data sent: Only the video URL you paste into the App is sent to ScrapeCreators. No account information, personal data, or other content is shared with this service.
Purpose: ScrapeCreators retrieves the transcript text from the video at the URL you provide, which is then used as the basis for pattern extraction and script rewriting.
Data protection: Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. ScrapeCreators receives only the public video URL and returns the transcript text.
What it is: Firebase is a platform by Google that provides authentication and cloud database services.
Data sent: Anonymous user ID, authentication tokens, app version, installation ID, platform identifier, and last-seen timestamp.
Purpose: Firebase handles anonymous user authentication and stores your account profile in Google Cloud Firestore.
Data protection: Data is stored on Google Cloud Platform with encryption at rest and in transit. Firebase processes data under Google's Firebase Privacy Policy.
What it is: RevenueCat is a subscription management platform for mobile apps.
Data sent: In-app purchase transaction data, subscription status, and an anonymous app user ID.
Purpose: RevenueCat manages your subscription status, purchase history, and entitlements through Apple's App Store.
Data protection: RevenueCat processes data under its Privacy Policy. RevenueCat is SOC 2 Type II certified.
What it is: Mixpanel is a product analytics platform that helps us understand how users interact with the App.
Data sent: Anonymous usage events (such as which onboarding screens you complete), device type, OS version, and an anonymous device identifier. No personal content — such as scripts, video URLs, or recordings — is sent to Mixpanel.
Purpose: Mixpanel helps us identify where users encounter friction in the App so we can improve the experience. For example, we track which onboarding steps are completed to remove screens that cause confusion.
Data protection: Mixpanel processes data under its Privacy Policy. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Mixpanel is SOC 2 Type II certified.
Each third-party service provider listed above is required — by contract, by their published privacy policies, or both — to protect your data to a standard equal to or greater than the protections described in this Privacy Policy. We do not share data with any third party that does not meet this standard.

We retain your personal information only for as long as needed to provide the App and meet legal obligations. Content submitted for AI processing (scripts, topics, video URLs) is not retained on our servers after the request is complete. Account profile data is retained until you request deletion. When deletion is requested and applicable, we will delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law.
Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our third-party service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We take appropriate safeguards — including encrypted transmission and requiring equivalent privacy protections from all third-party providers — to ensure your data remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
The App is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the effective date. If we add new third-party services or change what data is shared, we will update the in-app consent screen and request your consent again. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
